Therapy for Anxiety & Stress

Feeling anxious and stressed from time to time is normal and unavoidable.  But sometimes those feelings can be intense and build up over time which can be overwhelming and start to get in the way of living the life you want for yourself. 

It's exhausting and you start to feel depleted, powerless, and stuck.

I can teach relaxation exercises and other techniques for managing stress, so that you can begin to relax, improve your sleep, and feel more at peace.  This is great for providing relief and it's an important part of anxiety treatment.  However, I am also interested in finding longer-term solutions and getting to the root of the problem.  This involves a more in depth look at how you think and respond in situations when you feel anxious.   


I believe that we've all developed patterns of thinking and responding based on our past experiences, and once you are aware of these patterns and how they developed, then you can work on changing them.

You may have a pattern of withdrawing or avoiding certain people or situations in response to anxiety, or maybe you start to micro-manage, or you become irritable and snap at people. 


You may have a pattern of thinking about worst case scenarios or obsessively trying to figure things out or predict what will happen next. 


These patterns developed for a reason and have probably even been helpful at certain points, but they may also be getting in the way of your success and they may even be adding to your stress.


I can teach ways to help you slow down the process, calm your mind down, and start shifting your responses to help you feel more confident and in control, rather than letting your anxiety control you.
